OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Our ideal candidate would be someone who exemplifies the word “meticulous” while still being able to operate effectively under timelines. We operate off a list of jobs that need to be done within specific timeframes so we are looking for someone who will enjoy the challenge of meeting these deadlines while also working as efficiently and accurately as possible. We encourage slow and meticulous over fast. Quality over quantity.
We do have very busy periods of the year and therefore are looking for someone who can also cope well with the added stress of rush orders, shipping delays, equipment malfunction, etc. Someone who can think on their feet, troubleshoot, and communicate clearly and effectively with management and their peers. We are a small team so someone with a friendly easy-going attitude would be ideal.
A person who is creative and who has had experience with graphic design or any graphic design software in the past would be a bonus as well. We use two graphic design software programs and though we thoroughly train on all our equipment and software, prior use of such programs expediates training and understanding.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will enjoy this work, take pride in the product they produce, and become a contributing member of the Capital Trophy team.
Salary & Advancement:
- Starting wage: $19.00/hour (applies to all new hires regardless of prior experience due to the specialized nature of our work)
- 30-day review: After your initial training and trial period, you'll be evaluated for a step increase—employees who catch on quickly and contribute meaningfully may move up 1–3 steps in our wage scale at this point
- Ongoing increases: Additional step increases are available as you complete further training, develop new skills, and demonstrate mastery in key areas
- Scheduled reviews: Formal performance reviews are held at 6 months and annually, each offering additional opportunities for wage growth

Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- 40 hours per week

Work Location:
In-person — This is an on-site position. Candidates must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Salem, Oregon (97302) before starting work.
What We Do
Duties Included (but not limited to)
- Operating engraving machinery
- Setting up award layouts and artwork
- Sending artwork mockups to customers and handling artwork edits and confirmations
- Assembling awards, trophies, plaques, namebadges, and many other products
- Assisting customers with orders and pickups
- Answering phones and making customer calls
- Managing inventory and organizing supplies
- Invoicing completed orders
Must Have
- Strong general PC skills, especially with Windows OS
- Typing speed of at least 40 WPM
- Excellent English spelling and grammar
- Basic math skills (measuring with a ruler, calculating dimensions)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to receive and apply feedback
Nice to have
- Experience with graphic design software (CorelDRAW, Illustrator, Canva, etc.)
- Customer service experience (in-person, over the phone, or by email)
- Familiarity with crafting or small hand/power tools
- Experience with order processing, POS or ERP systems
- Interest in the personalization industry (engraving, signage, personalized product work)
